"Thinking of a series called the "Gospel according to Jill Scott"...1) He Loves Me, 2) Do You Remember, 3)"The Way!", 4) "Crown Royal", 5) "Gettin' In the Way", 6) "Hate On Me", 7) "Cross My Mind", 8)"Golden"!.....I got some inspiration!"
"Sometimes we can miss GOD in a moment without noticing that he can and will speak through many mediums of communication.GOD is ever present in our lives and when he wishes to speak, he can through a secular song. Being a gospel preacher we are forever in search of relevancy when it pertains to how to reach people where they are. Often times we are lost with what cab reach people. Creativity and authenticity are needed in our presentation of the "Good News" message and the messenger can package it as he /she likes without feeling as though they are violating any ethical codes of hermenutics or aborting the process of exegetical integrity. Therefore pray with us as we are being led by the Spirit of GOD to examine these periciopes by sister Jill Scott and see GOD do his thang!"....

"why we wear the title, "reverend"
"I wear the title Rev. not because I am proud of the profession. God called me. To be honest, I am sometimes ashamed of it because of the predominance of self-serving, profiting prophets in leadership roles within the Black church. Nevertheless, the title of Rev. must be used to serve those who are the most disenfranchised and isolated from the communion of humanity. Any other use is a betrayal of the way of Jesus."
The Rev. Osagyefo Uhuru Sekou, Urban Souls
This is a powerful statement with eternal implications. The title is that of a servant. Servant to humanity on behalf eternality is a far more lofy encounter than those who declare themselves to be such without any evidence of being found guilty of doing such tasks. To be found faithful is the the best thing that we can be identified with as far as life is concerned. We are the most fortunate people to have been given such defined outlines of service to humanity. We are to never allow the title to strip us of our duties or to make us abort our mission....

"Let me speak up to you!"
"rather than just speaking to you, let me speak you up! GOD is moving your enemies in position to watch you eat at the table he has prepared for you! Get set! Wash your face, your hands, get dressed, cause GOD has prepared a table for you in the enemies camp and at their table!"

"Why we Preach?"....
"When asked this powerful pertinent question, it propels the mind to contemplate the irresistable urge to preach. Dr. William Myers in his book, "The Irresistable Urge to Preach", used the call stories od great preachers to convey or to give an explaination as to why we feel as though that if we don't preach that we have done heaven an unjust jesture to sharing the good news. What is majestic, is that for the last 24 years, I have has this burning to preach. To preach for GOD is the highest goal in life, but I often struggle with trying to live up to the message I preach. The late William A. Jones in his book, talks about "treasure in trash" as it rleates to the great good treasure of the gospel having to be graffled through human trash, with all of it's complexities. Yet GOD choose to use such vessels of dishonor to honor him with their feeble efforts to proclaim his Kingdom on earth. What a lofty privilege to be accounted by God and then approved my his local body, to be chosen to share on his behalf. GOD is just good!"

"Just Preach a little"
When we consider all that comes up against the preacher, this is the attitude we must possess towards the obstacles that comes to hinder our progress....."I am walking, stepping, jumping, skipping, running in authority. No weapaon formed against me shall ever prosper. No lie, no ill intention, no accusation, no creditor, no woman , no man, no system, no authority, no gang, no political corruption, no phony fake carnal minded saint, no sickness, no traps, no tricks... no nothing that comes to block my God progress, will work". The power and authority that God has invested and manifested in all of us will perform its set divine agenda. But we must also aid the progress by being Kingdom minded in our preaching moment and our intensity about preaching. With all the stuff we may find our lives pulled apart by, preaching has to be... MUST be our top priority in order for us preachers to finish our course. So why not preach a little.....more?

"When Preaching Matters Most"
Preaching matters most when the sheep are hungry for a word from the Lord. The sheep are not ours but the Lord's. So, since we preachers have the divine mandate to share a word from the Lord, then it is imperative that we men and women of God undertake the task with a sense of urgency. We are living in some very uncertain times in the world today and God's church has to return to the Word of God and allow the power of His Word, not our words about His word, to radiate to all that will hear and accept his will for their lives.God is always active. He has sent his word to perform its task and it will not return to him void. It's God's Word that will transform our lives. Therefore, we preachers must "labor" in the Word and pray for divine direction from the Lord about his word for his sheep.Preaching matters most when it matters to the preacher first and foremost!"

Passionate about Preaching"
"One of the greatest contentions today, is a need for the preacher to have some passion about their preaching lifestyle. The world is in need of preachers who seriously take the responsibility to heart. God needs men and women and women and men, who hearts are on "fire" about getting the Gospel message to everyone they can. Reaching the lost calls for today's preacher to be strategic about the precision of their preaching and the targeted audience they are trying to approach. The week should be planned to get God's attention about what the people are in need of and then diligence should be given to that task with all the energy that can be mustered up to meet that need. Preaching is serious passion!"
